Main content / Storyline

When additional space became available within the same building, managing director Gerriet Scherz and his team faced a clear question: how to put that space to good use – not as just another interchangeable arcade module, but as a genuine highlight that clearly stands out. The goal was to increase the return-visit rate, reach a wider catchment area, and create a high-quality experience that would integrate smoothly into daily operations.

The deciding factor for Pixel was, above all, personal connection: an existing network through Ilias Tourgaidis, shareholder at Pixel Games, made the entry easier. That close, personal relationship carried through the entire collaboration – from the decision itself through implementation and into ongoing operations, direct contact with managing director Philipp Hacker continued throughout. For Gerriet, that made a noticeable difference: “From the very beginning, we had the feeling that we were genuinely being listened to and that our requirements were being taken seriously.”

Today, the 36 sqm Pixel Floor is positioned centrally and deliberately in clear view – right at the transition to the mini golf area, which shares a similar audience. This placement means many guests notice the attraction for the first time and try it spontaneously, or come back specifically to play it. The Pixel Floor has also become an occasion in its own right, for instance for exclusive birthday parties.

The result: growing brand awareness and a clearly differentiating addition to the venue. During the winter months, the Pixel Floor runs at full capacity, generating roughly €12,000 to €20,000 in monthly revenue. Day to day, the system stands out for its easy, in-house maintenance and flexible game mode settings, along with – once again – fast support and a direct line to leadership: “You can just tell there’s a German company behind it that takes its product seriously and keeps developing it consistently.”

Looking back, the team would plan the space larger, particularly to better serve school classes. The key takeaway: the combination of the right audience, smart placement, and an engaging, visually strong product is what determines success.

“Before you even consider another arcade module or an escape room: get a Pixel Floor. The investment is comparable, but the added value for the whole venue – in quality, visibility, and experience – is far greater.”
